Over the course of this semester I have learned the language of persuasion and the key concepts of media deconstruction. Also that there is more to viewing media then just looking at it, you really need to examine it and understand. Although I knew some of the basic language of persuasion techniques from grade nine, I learned a lot more this semester and furthered my understanding of it all. Then I reinforced my knowledge on the key concepts of media deconstruction, and learned the questions to ask myself while viewing articles of media.

Although I have learned the key concepts of media deconstruction I still view the ability to deconstruct media as the area I need to improve the most on. I enjoy writing media deconstruction, but feel that the comments I make are weak and could be improved on. I believe that improving on this aspect will result in me understanding media pieces better and even creating media pieces more efficiently. I could improve on media deconstruction by viewing different forms of media and going through the texts and the subtexts. In conclusion I would choose media deconstruction as the area that I need to improve on the most when viewing and in some cases constructing media.

Through the process of creating this portfolio I have learned how to properly construct a website and order it so it is appealing and conveying to the viewer. I have found a way to use media to keep the audience interested and entertained. I have included multiple forms of media (Pictures, videos, etc.) to make the website appealing to the viewer. Also I have learned that media is an effective way to display information.
